Disease Report #1
Neuro-Vocalisis Syndrome, better known by its urban name, the Gah Disease, is a neurological disorder whose causes are unknown. It is estimated to afflict 10% of the World’s population and is thought to be moderately contagious, according to reports by the World Health Organization. The syndrome causes the victim to constantly make a sound that is pronounced as “Gah”, though several variants of the pronunciation are known to exist. About 25% of all victims also communicate this “message” through various forms, such as spelling out the sound using a pen and paper, or typing out the spelling of the sound through a typewriter or computer. In the long term, victims of the disease also begin to suffer from rapid spasms. Brain scans reveal that victims of the disease, while communicating the sound, utilize fewer areas of the brain in speech. It is known that the hippocampus of victims begin to degrade after the victim has been afflicted with the disease for about 2 years, causing the victims to lose their memory. There is no known cure for this disease at the time of writing.
